Site MapHappy New Year 2008 everyone! It's the year of the Mouse, for whatever that's worth, so umm, I hope you all have a great mouse-themed year and don't get too sloshed with the bubbly tonight ;)
I'm in a good mood at the moment - it's the goyo osame end of the work year period so I'm off until next week. I'm trying to use the time to study, redesign the website and just generally stuff my face (I've already eaten far too much cheesecake today ohhh...) and be lazy.
It is gorgeous weather today in the Kanto region - a crisp, blue sky, sharp, cool wind, and that beautiful winter sunlight that makes you want to bundle up and go somewhere exciting to play.
Besides the random pictures from the recent Tokyo Lightopia Holiday lightup that just closed yesterday (I found the buildings much more interesting than the silly christmas lights), I thought I'd share with you the music I'm listening to at the moment - perfect for this kind of day.

Happy New Year!
Our holidays were fantastic. We went down to Philadelphia to spend Christmas with family, and then came back home and had a great time playing host to friends this past Saturday - the first large gathering in our new place.
For New Year's Eve, we decided to cook at home, and had shabu-shabu as a late dinner. I even went as far as making a traditional ponzu sauce, using lemons, mirin, rice vinegar, soy sauce and kombu. Mmmmmm. Food.
We still have plenty of leftovers from both gatherings - including a bowlful of batter from which we will make banana and Nutella crepes about 15 more times.
If you ever decide to bite the fingerprinting bullet and visit NY, we are ready to receive guests - you are more than welcome to stay with us (I know that you would probably crash with KC, but the invitation remains open!)

Happy New Year Panda!
We had a quiet evening at home. Was worn out from all the Christmas craziness and was looking forward to just being alone with my family for once! I know boring, but it was great!
and you? What great tings did you do to celebrate the end of a year and the beginning of a great one?!?!
And funny you mentioned the Chicago to LA train. I was thinking of doing that! I know a couple who did it, I will have to ask to make sure the train is nice and has clean windows! Coming from japan (or Switzerland) it will never BE AS clean though! ;-) But what a fabulous journey it would be!
