Blue Skies over Tokyo (Sky Worship III)

Blue skies over Tokyo

Yesterday was a brilliant blue day in Tokyo so I went for a walk with a friend to Harajuku to attend to some Hatsumode-ing, about 2 weeks too late.

After we were done praying for happiness, wealth, or in my case, a real live baby panda, a box of new Legos and admittance into Columbia Law school (roughly in that order), we decided to go for a walk around town to see what we could see on such a beautiful day.

I’m afraid there are only pictures in this post so but I’ll be posting another soon with some more content. But for now enjoy the rest of the blue skies after the link!

Bart’s brilliant take on Sky Worship

Now listening to: “Above & Beyond – Good For Me (feat. Zoe Johnston) [Above & Beyond Club Mix]“

You can hear the song below (no video, just the song playing on youtube). It really is beautiful. Trance was going through a bit of a stale phase for a while recently, but Above & Beyond are one of the groups that are helping to really point it in a new and original direction. They are quickly becoming one of my favourites, alongside other newly popular acts like Signal Runners, the incomparable Hybrid, Way Out West and other classic DJs like ATB, Chicane, BT and so on.

The only bad part about the song below is that the youtube encoding process strips it of all its fidelity and “oomph” – you really need to “feel it” thumping through you as much as you need to hear it. If you like this song, I really recommend you buy it for the full experience (it’s available on iTunes I believe). It’s perfect for driving down the highway at night with the windows down and the chill autumn/winter air whipping through the car.

Awww! Harajuku! Is law in the future for you? That’s a first! All this time I thought the Japanese language and genetics were your focus.
As always, the depths of your interests and personality come up and amaze me.
If Columbia Law is in your future, our family will definitely look forward to another panda in the city!

The guy in the kilt with the Chinese yo-yo is most bizarre. Your photos are always so crisp and well-composed! How do you do it?
Did you get my card? I imagine it must have arrive a tiny bit late; but as you saw, even Santa had problems.
I’m afraid your card got lost in the mail somewhere as neither my sis nor her neighbour saw it (same mailbox). Sad :(

Beautiful photos! What’s this about Columbia Law? You’re asking for misery?
