Street Style II

brilliant as usual. you capture the type of natural beauty that most people have, hidden somewhere.

do you do a lot of post processing to get the contrast just right?

Tokyo B&W

Your pictures, especially this set, somehow capture exactly how I see Tokyo. Or maybe how I feel about Tokyo?

beautifully done.

Quiet streets

it's not important to be defined it's only important to use your time... or that's what a favorite singer says.

man, it's the angst of our age, I think. the question that keeps us all from sleeping. hell, I run from one thing to another, throwing myself in and then just as quickly dropping it and moving on to something else. I used to be a biochemist....

but it's a beautiful life, even full of this confusion, isn't it?

Akihabara-Ochanomizu Pt. I

wow, akihabara in black and white seems so much more... post apocalyptic or something. beautiful though.

so yeah, I was in chiba (funabashi) am now near Fujisawa but will move somewhere not in the middle of no where in March before I start my new and more awesome job.

Nikko

There's something about Japan that I am eternally in love with but can never really put into words. Your pictures often capture it. Funny, I've been back 6 weeks and have hardly picked up my camera.

Hope the JLPT went well! I took a nice break from spending the day failing this year....

2008 Autumn Roadtrip - Part IX

your skys are breathtaking as always. I'm back in Japan, finally, and so glad to be here. Your pictures helped tide me over in the interim. Thanks.

2008 Autumn Roadtrip - Part VIII

Almost everyone I know who visits Hiroshima walks away with a very different impression. As a former scientist, the role of the scientists as pacifists: brilliant in their research, hopelessly naive in the applications/consequences, struck me the most.

Your version is very right. We only pick and chose the genocides we cry over.

2009 World Bicycle Messenger Championships

hahaha "a colorful and fun group to photograph" he says and posts all B&W pictures.

lovely.

Sunday Skies - Sky Worship VI

how do you get that gorgeous exposure??
which JLPT are you studying for? I failed 2 for the second time last Dec... but hey, third time (not this year) must be the charm, right?

all the best!

2008 Autumn Roadtrip - Part V

aw, so beautiful. I want to do a cycling trip in Shikoku someday. The delicious air would probably be better than that volcano in Aomori...

you're pictures always make me miss Japan. though, lately, I've been playing with parrots in Bolivia and that's pretty cool. I'm refraining from posting my best pictures for now, but the runner ups aren't so bad.

p.s. the security check words are "troubles came" which is very funny

2008 Autumn Roadtrip - Part III

ha ha ha ha.... I tried すずめ (a different small birdy) once and it was awful. I spit mine into a napkin unable to swallow the horridness.
a very drunk and unruly friend of mine hit on a waitress one too many times and then asked what she recommended--in bad Japanese. get it? the play on words? I felt the need to help (try to) eat what my stupid friend ordered...

your pictures are beautiful. I also love Fushimi Inari Shrine but have never got pictures as beautiful. Well done!

2008 Autumn Road Trip - Part I

beautiful pictures as always! I'm torn between whether it's better to smile and bear the crowds or give up and visit off season. sigh. a good secret is rarely kept in Japan, I think.

Showa Memorial Park

those colors are AMAZING. I'm so jealous. I climbed all the way from fuji yoshida (i.e. bottom of the hill) to 5th station of Fuji and could never get both beautiful fall colors and beautiful blue sky in the same exposure. I wanted to cry.

that's why I have to leave Japan. and something about the way they say those Latins can dance.

but I'll be blogging away. I'd be tickled if you keep dropping in.

thanks for the comments on my blog!

Monorail Blue Skies (Sky Worship V)

hot diggity. and here I was beating myself over my head that my skies lacked blue because my exposure was wrong even though I was unable to figure out how to fix it with five zillion different manual combinations.

money. money on toys is the answer.
a new computer that can handle photoshop might be the answer too.

and here I thought it was about talent...

Another Week...

somedays, I'm amazed that millions of people survive the Tokyo heat every year...

I escape Friday morning to the north. the misadventures begin.

I really like the picture at the top... especially without the spots.

The Great Tohoku Road Trip - Part I

your pictures are lovely.
I can't wait to hit the sulfur stench while I'm panting for air on my bike....

it will be a journey.

Wednesday Night...

the photo of your kitchen is lovely.

Painting with Light

The painting with light is quite cool, I think.

Thanks for the comments on my blog again! I really appreciate them. Getting a tripod is on the list of things to buy right after a polarizing filter.

Good luck studying for the JLPT... I should get back to that myself.

Sick Panda

I'm sorry you're sick!

Thanks for all the comments on my blog, I really appreciate them! I am back in Japan... just really slow about uploading my pictures. I guess that's on e reason I'll probably not bother with photoshop, even if it would fix things. sigh.

Hope you feel better soon.
